Material concerning the earlier part of Sir Henry George Elliot's career in the diplomatic service can be found in the family correspondence of other members of the family, especially the 2nd and 3rd Earls of Minto, and the Honourable George Francis Stewart Elliot (MSS.11760, 12250, 13089).


The papers were used in Gertrude Elliot (editor), ‘Come Revolutions and other diplomatic experiences’ (London, 1922).
