Scope and Contents
The manuscript contains copies of the following:
(i) ‘The contraversie concerning the validitie of the obligation of the tendes for union in one commonwealth, discussed’;
(ii) Part of a paper respecting the controversy between Resolutioners & Protesters;
(iii) Continuation of section (i): ‘The contraversie concerning the validitie of the obligation…’ (folio 11);
(iv) Continuation of section (i): ‘The contraversie concerning the validitie of the obligation…’ (folio 20);
(v) Reasons against the proceedings of a commission of the General Assembly;
(vi) The commissioner’s opinion upon the proposed associating of the shires of Ayr, Renfrew and Lanark;
(vii) The charge of the associate forces of 2000 horse & 3000 foot with complete officers;
(viii) A fragment of receipts for confections;
(ix) Sir Francis Winnington’s speech concerning the pardon of the Earl of Danby;
(x) Declaration of the Parliament of the Commonwealth of England concerning the settlement of Scotland;
(xi) ‘My Lord Argyle’s speech 27 May 1661’;
(xii) Committee for the government of the Kingdom and protestation against it;
(xiii) A few acts of Privy Council;
(xiv) Overtures, letters, etc., one dated 1652, concerning church affairs;
(xv) History from the 3rd volume of the manuscript of Mr Robert Baillie, 1649-1652, being many of “Baillie’s letters” and papers;
(xvi) ‘Bulla Honorii Papæ de concilio provinciali Scoticano’;

(xviii) Collections from Baillie’s manuscript, 2nd volume.
