Scope and Contents

‘MS. A – The contents of the following booke are: (i) Imprimus, Some essays and observes of the Roman and Scots Law compared together in 14 chapters (folio 1);

(ii) Item, Some remarks about Marittine Affairs and the process of capers before the Admirale or Lords of Session for adjudging or reclaiming prize ships (folio 11);

(iii) Item, Some Decisions of the Lords of Session from June 1647 till December 1649 (folio 15);

(iv) Item, Some Decisions of the English judges dureing the Unsurpatione from 1654 till his Majesties Restoratione and the sitting downe of the session again in June 1661 (folio 19);

(v) Item, A collection of sundrie remarkable Decisions of the Lords of Session from June 1661 till June 1678, being the space of 17 years quherin are mingled many other passages and transactions, and some observable actings att secret of own cell (folio 50); and an accompt of the convention of the Estate in June 1678 (folio 322)’.
