Why wilt thou not be my Love', 1793; 'The Sang of the Outlaw Murray', written out, according to a note, for Christian Rutherford about 1797, a version occasionally differing from Herd's and that printed in the ‘Minstrelsy’; 'Alonzo the Brave and the Fair Imogene', by Matthew Gregory Lewis, transcribed by Scott for Miss Rutherford, with slight variations from the printed text (MS.3220, folios 35-59);

Letter, 1830, of Sir Walter Scott to Alexander Pringle of Whytbank, containing a version of the ballad of the Scotts of Whitslade, pasted in a copy of Captain Walter Scot of Satchells, 'A true history of several honourable families of the right honourable name of Scot’ (Edinburgh, 1776), presented to Pringle by Sir Walter Scott (MS.3286);

'Life of Napolean Buonaparte' (Edinburgh, 1827), volume i, by Sir Walter Scott, with marginal corrections in the authors hand, 1827 (MS.3358).
