Manuscript of 'Glimpses of Byron's Men Friends', possibly by Emily Morse Symonds, 'George Paston'., Early 20th Century.
Scope and Contents
An apparently unpublished manuscript, possibly of Emily Morse Symonds, ‘George Paston’, containing biographical information on some of the men in the circle of Lord Byron. Symonds was a noted biographer who was connected to the house of Murray, not least through the publication of her biography of John Murray III, "At John Murray's, 1843-1892". A manuscript by her on Lord Byron, as evidence of her interest in the poet, was published posthumously by Peter Quennel as '"To Lord Byron": feminine profiles based upon unpublished letters, 1807-1824'.
