Scope and Contents

These handwritten copies are of the correspondence between Elizabeth Lamb, known as Lady Melbourne, and Lord Byron. The first set of copies are in the hand of William King, 1st Earl of Lovelace, who was married to Ada King, the daughter of Lord Byron. These are mostly copies of the letters of Byron to Lady Melbourne, but there are occasional copies of some of her replies.

There are then other copies of the same letters in another, unknown, hand. These only contain letters of Byron to Lady Melbourne.
