Charter by Philip called Chylde of Prendrelathe and Mariot, his wife, sister and heir of the deceased Gilbert de Hangandeschawys, granting to Walter called Wydouson, son of John of Kemelspethe, their whole land in Hangandeschawes and Brounlawe, which the said Gilbert family formerly held and which descended to the said Marjory by his decease., Circa 1320.

Contains 71 writs and three detached seals, with Cairncross Charters of the Regality of Melrose (listed in "Selections from the Regality of Melrose", volume III, (1917), pp 373-382).
Please note that the Rutherford name is represented variously throughout the charters, including Ruderfurde, Ruthirfurde, and Rutherfurde.
This collection consists of material transferred from the Scottish Record Office to the National Library, and is supplementary to the main body of Rutherfurd of Edgerston Papers (Acc.7676) held by the National Library.
