Charter by Robert Stewart of Rossyth in favour of Agnes Scrymgeour spouse of Peter Bruce apparent of Erlishall and their heirs failing which the heirs of Peter Bruce of the middle third of the lands of Cragy in the barony of Rossyth to by held in fee. Baillie for sesine William Barklay. At Edinburgh, 6 August 1558. Witnesses: William Galt, David Grege and Finlay Martin.

Instrument of sasine dated 16 June 1576 in favour of David Seitoun son of Alexander Seitoun brother german of John Seitoun, laird of Lawthrisk of an annualrent of 10 merks out of the lands of Wodderisbie following on a charter by James Sandilandis, junior of Sanctmonanis and Elizabeth Strang his spouse. Witnesses: John Robertsone and John Ferny in Woddirisbie. Notary: David Donaldson.

69. Charter by James Sandilandis, junior of Sanctmonanis with consent of Elizabeth Strange his spouse in favour of David Seitoun, son of Alexander Seitoun brother german of John Seitoun of Lawthrisk of an annualrent of 10 merks out of the lands of Woddirisbie. At Wodderisbie, 10 July 1576. Witnesses: Thomas Maknewn, armiger, James Braid in Wodheid, and John Bruce servant to the granter. David Donaldson notary attests Elizabeth Strang’s subscription.

70. Instrument of sasine dated 7 May 1611 in favour of David Kinloch son of John Kinloch portioner of Luthrie as heir to his father in an eighth part of the lands of Luthrie following on a Royal writ. Baillie for sasine: John Halkerstoun portioner of Luthrie. Witnesses: Andrew Clerk, portioner of Luthrie, Thomas Beruick there, David Garioche there, John Stenhous, there, Thomas Ramsay in Star, James Lessellis servitor of Michael, lord Balfour of Burlie. Notary: Stephen Paterson, stewart of Fife.

Instrument of sasine dated 19 December 1588 in favour of James Hoip in Stokistruther following on a charter by Archibald AuckinIek of Cunilege of the third part of the lands of Stokistruther in the barony of Aldroxbrugh in the Sheriffdom of Roxbrughe, Baillie for sasine Thomas Ker in Trowis. Charter dated at Edinburgh, 20 Nov. 1588. Witnesses: Patrick Slich in Birkinsyde, Thomas Blakie in St Leonards near Edinburgh, James Bryden in Rutterfurde, George Blaikie in Stokistruther, Robert Davidsoun in Thankless, William Lyndesay servant to Archibald Auchinlek, John Robesoun and James Logane, notaries. Witnesses to sasine: John Symsone in Roxbrughe, Andrew Dun there, George Lumesdane in Stokistruther, George Blaikie there, Robert Davidsoun in Thankless. Notary: Robert Mentey.

Precept of clare constat by John, Earl of Hadingtoun to George Halyburtoun of Pendicle to give sasine to John Halyburtoun now of Murislaw as heir to George Halyburtoun of Murislaw son of James Halyburton of Murislaw father's brother to the said John of the lands of Murislaw with part of the marsh of Fairnyngtoun to be held in feu for £12:6:8 annually. At Newmercat, 14 March 1614. Witnesses: David Drummond, Andrew Haitlie and Mr George Herreis.

Instrument of sasine dated 21 July 1618 in favour of Robert Hope, son and heir of James Hope in Stokstruder in a half of a third part of Stokstruder in succession to his father following on a precept of clare constat by Robert Earl of Roxburghe dated at Edinburgh 13 July 1613. Witnesses: Mr Thomas Nicolsone advocate and Alexander Cunninghame, writer in Edinburgh, Baillie for sasine James Hope in Stokstruder. Witnesses: George Blaike, George Hop, James Blaikdam and Andrew Jamiesone in Stokstruder. Notary: Robert Andersone.

Instrument of sasine dated 9 April 1642 in favour of John Hope in Stockstruther in a half of a third part of the lands of Stockstruther following on a charter by Robert Earl of Roxburghe once belonging to Archibald Auchinleck of Cumladye. Baillie for sasine Gavin Ellott of Grange. Charter dated at Cannogait, 20 November 1641. Witnesses: Andrew Ker of Clatto, Alexander Don clerk of Kelso, John Lermont W.S. Witnesses to sasine: Andrew Lumsdeane in Stockstruther, John Hendersone there, George Lumsdeane there and John Curle there. Notary: Alexander Den.

75. Instrument of sasine dated 9 April 1642 in favour of William Hope, son and heir of deceased Robert Hope in Stockstruther by his attorney, John Wyllie in Stockstruther in a half of a third part of the

lands of Stockstruther once belonging to the deceased Archibald Auchinleck of Cumladge as heir to his father following on a precept by Robert, Earl of Roxburgh. Instrument of resignation dated 20 November 1641 of John Leirmont, W.S. as procurator for William Hope, son and heir of the deceased Robert Hope in Stockstruther in favour of John Hope in Stockstruther of the half of the third part of Stockstruther formerly pertaining to Archibald Auchinleck of Cumledge. Witnesses: Patrick McKie of Larg, Andrew Ker of Chatto, Andrew Ker and John Lucas servitors to Robert, Earl of Roxburghe.

Charter under the Great Seal in favour of George Clappertoun son of the deceased Mr John Clappertoun, minister at Ednem, of the lands and barony of Ednem etc. following an adjudication from Andrew Edmondstoune of Ednem for a. debt of 6460 merks 9s. 3d. Dated 13 February 1665. [Seal fragment only].

78. Double renunciation of an annual rent of £66:18:8 furth of the lands and barony of Aden by Robert Dundas of Arniestoun with consent of Sir Charles Areskine of Ava in favour of George Earl Marischal. (1688) [Fragment].

Baillie for sasine Thomas Ker in Hollis. At Edinburgh 20 November 1588. Witnesses: Patrick Sleich in Birkinsyid, Thomas Blaikie in St Leonards near Edinburgh, James Braidyne in Rutherfuird, George Blaikie and James Logane, notaries public.

81. Confirmation charter by Robert Ker fear of Cesfuird of document no. 80. At Jedburgh, 18 November 1590. Witnesses: Thomas Ker of Masindew, Thomas Duncansoun, minister in Bowdon, Mr George Douglass and Robert Meleyl notaries.

82. Precept of clare constat by Robert, Earl of Roxburgh in favour of Robert Hope as heir to his father James Hope in Stokstruder of a half of a third part of the lands of Stokstruder. Written by Richard Mosman notary at Edinburgh 13 July 1618. Witnesses: Mr Thomas Nicolsoun, advocate and Alexander Conynghame, writer in Edinburgh.

83. Precept of clare constat by Robert, Earl of Roxburgh in favour of William Hope as heir to his father Robert Hope in Stokstruder of a half of a third part of the lands of Stokstruder. Written by George Sibbald servitor to John Leirmont, W.S. At Cannogait, 20

November 1641. Witnesses: Andrew Ker of Chatto, Alexander Don, clerk of Kelso and John Leirmont. [Seal – fair].

84. Charter by Robert, Earl of Roxburgh in favour of John Hope in Stokstruder and his heirs of the half of the third part of the lands of Stokstruder which formerly pertained to William Hope son and heir to the deceased Robert Hope in Stokstruder. At Cannogait, 20 November 1641. Witnesses: Andrew Ker of Chatto, Alexander Don, clerk of Kelso and John Leirmont, W.S. whose servant George Sibbald writes the document. [Seal – fair].
