Decreet at Edinburgh, July 1637 at the instance of Mr John Skene of Halyardis against Walter Somervell in Gr[ene] field and George Johnestoun in Northbovingschaw and William Bone, tenant in Halzards, for his interest for nonpayment by Walter Somervell of rents of the lands of Halyards and Halbarns occupied by him for crops 1635 end 1636 to make forthcoming certain oxen and sheep arrested in part payment of the debt. 225. Extract registered ratification by William Fairlie of Browntisfield having reached the age of 21 of his marriage contract with Elizabeth Skene now his spouse made 26 July 1636 between him with consent of Sir Robert Fairlie of Braid Kt, William Seatoune son to the deceased Sir William Seatoune of Killismwne Kt, Mr James Fairlie then designed minister at Edinburgh and now Bishop of Argyll and Mr John Olyphant sheriff clerk of Edinburgh on the one part and Mr John Skene of Halzairdis on the other part.
