(i) A version of 'The battle of Sempach', written on paper watermarked 1813, with a prose introduction (folio 1);
(ii) Manuscript of an article, 'Phantasmagoria no. I', published in "Blackwood's Magazine" (May 1818) (folio 7);
(iii) Fragment of manuscript of ‘The fortunes of Nigel’, corresponding to volume iii (first edition), page 323, to the end of the novel; see Gillian Dyson’s, "The manuscripts and proof sheets of Scott's Waverley Novels", in 'Edinburgh Bibliographical Society Transactions', volume iv (1960), pages 26-27; with a letter, 1844, from John A Ballantyne, printer, to Alexander and Robert Blackwood presenting this fragment to them (folio 14).
