Ultra-violet photographs of leaves removed from, and of a defaced page of the 'Auchinleck Manuscript' (Adv.MS.19.2.1).
Scope and Contents
With the exception of folio 5, the photographs are of leaves which were originally part of the 'Auckinleck Manuscript' but were removed at an early date and have remained seperate. They were discovered in use as the covers of notebooks and in bindings.
The contents are as follows.
Two leaves containing part of ‘The Life of Adam and Eve’; originally gathering 3, folios 4-5, item 3(viii). (Folio 1.)
Part of ‘Þe Wenche þat loved a king’; gathering 36, folio 256 verso, item 27(xxxii). (Folio 5.)
Four leaves containing part of ‘Kyng Alisaunder’; originally gathering 40, folio 3-6, item 33(xliiii). (Folio 6.)
Four leaves containing part of ‘King Richard’; originally gathering 48, folios 2, 4-5, 7, item 43(lvi). (Folio 12.)
