It seems certain that this was the manuscript acquired by the Advocates’ Library at the auction of John Carfrae and Son, Edinburgh, 24 March 1832, lot 1078, and that it was Adv.MS.5.1.6, containing minutes of meetings from 27 November 1761 to 7 December 1764, that was presented by the Earl of Buchan (see ‘My own life and times 1741-1814’ by Thomas Somerville, pages 41-42 and the editor`s (incorrect) footnote).

Presented, 1925, by the Faculty of Advocates to the nation on the foundation of the National Library of Scotland.
