The collection includes: the mineral exploration papers of James Russel of Blackbraes, circa 1850-1900; papers relating to the Falkirk Gas Works, 1829-1879; papers relating to the Stirling Midland Junction Railway, 1836-1855; the papers of Dr John Aitken, Fellow of the Royal Society, relating to naval mechanics and meteorology, circa 1865-1915; the writs of the lands of Myethill, Denny, 1569-1773; papers relating to the Falkirk Bank Company, 1668-1840; and many estate and mineral plans, 18th century-20th century.
