Custodial History
The name of Robert, 6th Lord Seton, occurs on the title-page with the date 1591. Also on the title-page occurs the name James Espleine, 1630; the manuscript is accordingly referred to in some places, e.g., in Nisbet's ‘Heraldry’, as Espline's manuscript.
Immediate Source of Acquisition
Presented, 1949, by the Keeper of the Records of Scotland, who had had copies made by permission of the owner of the original, Sir David Ogilvy, Baronet.
