Miscellaneous letters and papers concerning the Faculty of Advocates Library.
Scope and Contents
The papers include the following.
(i) Election, 1758, of Mr Adam Wallace as Keeper, and arrangement as to Mr Wallace Goodall as Keeper, 1765.
(ii) Resignation of Mr Wallace as Keeper.
(iii) Extrait de Catalogue de la Bibliotheque du Roi Paris, 22 May 1765.
(iv) Application, 1770-1772, to the Town Council for more accommodation.
(v) Report, 1771, of the curators on Mr Alexander Brown's salary.
(vi) Letter, dated 11 September 1771, signed [Father] John Gordon, about the manuscripts in the [Scots College] Paris.
(vii) Letter, dated 1772, from the Earl of Hynford desiring the Curators to give Mr Thomas Percy access to the two manuscripts [Bannatyne] 'he presented last winter'.
(viii) Reverend J Smith and Gaelic poems, 1780.
