Scope and Contents
This collection consists of personal recordings predominantly made by John Junner, a teacher and Scottish traditional music expert and collector. It includes published, unpublished and broadcast material (including BBC Schools programmes). The Collection has a focus on the work of James Scott Skinner.

Physical Characteristics and Technical Requirements
The original recordings were captured on magnetic tape audio reels and cassettes. The 411 masters (331 tape reels; 80 compact cassettes) were digitised under the Unlocking Our Sound Heritage (UOSH) project. The formats of the digitised copies are JPEG and WAV files.

The tapes were temporarily deposited in the National Library of Scotland to enable digitisation under the Unlocking Our Sound Heritage (UOSH) project.
