Scope and Contents

The album is a record of the weekend and holiday social life of the Radford family, friends of the Drummond family, the Viscounts Strathallan. Evelyn Radford was the spinster daughter of Mrs and Mrs Jack Radford of Hale End Manor, near Walthamstow, Essex. Places visited include: Swaylands House, Penshurt, Kent; West Garty Lodge and Kildonan, Sutherland; Hale End Manor, Essex; Alderwasley, Matlock, Derbyshire; Fornham Park, Bury St Edmunds; The Briars, Byfleet, Surrey; Cranborne Hall, Windsor Forest, Meadford Rock, Toquay.

The visits to Scotland took place in August - October of 1895- 1898. in addition to photographs and drawings of hunting and shooting scenes, there is verse and autographs of the holiday-makers, a dance programme and a drawing of a scene at a Gillies Dance at Kildonan. Only the visits to Sutherland have been indexed.
