Scope and Contents The author was born near Dover, and describes himself as a 'middle class man engaged in the business of life', possibly a doctor or lawyer. After a brief stay in Edinburgh, he visited Perth, Bannockburn, Callander, Inversnaid, Glasgow, Oban, Inveraray, and Rothesay, and returned again to Glasgow.
