Scope and Contents

Due to the War and Dr Edmund Crosby Quiggin’s early death, neither work was published. The papers were used however by Professor John Fraser in publishing his collection of Quiggin’s Book of the Dean of Lismore transcripts, ‘Poems from the Book of the Dean of Lismore’.

Dates: 1st quarter of 20th century.

Scope and Contents The Reverend Donald Stewart, a native of the Loch Earn district of Perthshire, was a minister of St Mark’s, Demerara, from his arrival 29 April 1831 to his death seven months later. The contents are as follows.(i) Lease of Lednascriden, Balquhidder, 1776 (folio 1);(ii) Letter of Donald Stewart, Georgetown, 30 April 1831, to his father and brother, both John Stewart, Findglen, Loch Earn.
