Scope and Contents

The typescripts, chiefly 20th-century and consisting largely of excerpts from the kirk-session records, are almost ready for publication, and are accompanied by notes, newspaper cuttings, and photographs. Churches other than parish are dealt with, and biographical and genealogical information is given about ministers.

Scope and Contents From the Series: Much of Ruthven Todd's prose writing, especially in his later life, was repetitious: he not only made numerous drafts and re-writings, but he used the same material in both books and articles. In particular, he made use of his own reminiscences in his work on Dylan Thomas and Fitzrovia as well as in the more autobiographical 'Dead and other friends and places'. Scope and Contents

The work is largely based on letters written by Anne Dundas, who was an extensive traveller and a talented amateur artist in water-colours.

Letters concerning the work, written to Elizabeth Haldane by friends and relatives of Miss Dundas, precede the text (folios 1-42).

Scope and Contents

The contents are as follows. (i) Dramatised biographies of Pandita Ramabai (folio 1) and Theodore Pennell (folio 14), broadcast on the children's radio programme 'Pioneers for the Kingdom', 1937. 'Pandita Ramabai' has numerous manuscripts corrections. (ii) 'The Thought-Recorder', a play for television, undated (folio 39). It was originally written under the pseudonym 'Juniper Struan'.

Writings of Vero L Bosazza on nineteenth century explorers of African countries, chiefly David Livingstone.

Scope and Contents Vero L Bosazza, a South Africa geologist who worked in various African countries, became interested in the nineteenth century travellers there, especially David Livingstone. In retirement he wrote extensively on them, his personal knowledge of the localities giving his work a dimension frequently lacking in other scholarship. His writings are almost entirely unpublished, except in the sense that he distributed copies of them to various libraries with interests in African history....
