At folio 1 is Hutton`s transcript of a descriptive note by William Anderson, Writer to the Signet, 1798, of the 1548 manuscript.

A bifolium (folios 165-166) containing copies by David Malcolm, Doctor of Laws, of two charters in favour of the abbey is bound in at the beginning of the transcript.

The transcript is followed by transcripts, from the same source, of Hay`s notes on the succession of churchmen in Scotland (folio 237) and on Cîteaux and St Bernard (folio 258), which begin at Adv.MS.34.1.10(i), folios 2 and 142 respectively, and of other material including charters also at Panmure (folio 261), some of which (folios 269-271) are written in Hutton`s hand on paper watermarked 1818.
Transcripts and extracts made at different times between 1796 and 1818, with a number made about 1824, of documents relating to collegiate churches, abbeys and other religious houses mostly in the west of Scotland, ranging in date from about 1200 to 1632 (most belonging to the 15th and 16th centuries). Most are by Lieutenant-General G H Hutton, some of those made about 1796 and most of those made after 1818 being in other hands., Circa 1200-1632.
