Charter of ratification and confirmation to the burgh by James III., 1464.
These papers relate to the affairs of the town of Inverness. The dealings of the Forbes in their private capacity with Inverness are placed under Ch.1642-1843.
Contract of wadset, 1 June 1618, between David Toshach of Monzievaird and William Murray, 6th of Ochtertyre and his son Patrick Murray, on reversion for Glenturret grazings., 1 June 1618.
Ratified, 3 July 1620, by Sir James Campbell of Lawers and Patrick Grahame of Inchbrakie as donators of the ward of Andrew Toshach.
Copy, 1590, of ratification, 1590, by Elizabeth Stewart, Countess of Moray and James, Earl of Moray of contract between them and Robert Fletcher burgess of Dundee concerning salmon fishing., 1590.
The family acquired various properties in Angus which were consolidated into the baronies of Innerpeffer and Turin; after Sir Andrew`s purchase of Saltoun the Angus property was sold, some to Col Sir Francis Ruthven in 1648, some to George, Lord Spynie in 1650, and some to George, Earl of Panmure in 1663; current titles will have passed to the purchasers.

Extract of ratification, 20 October 1623, by James, Lord Ochiltree, Alexander, Lord Garlies and Sir William Cunningham of Caprington of sasine to Mr William Forbes of Craigievar, of Saltoun and Glencorse. Registered, 10 January 1625., 20 October 1623.
William Forbes of Many, afterwards of Craigievar, and his son Sir William, succeeded in acquiring all rights to Saltoun, which was ultimately sold, after being held briefly by Sir William Gray of Pittendrum and various relations of Forbes, to Sir Andrew Fletcher of Innerpeffer.

The 8th Lord sold many of the estates and borrowed extensively on the security of Saltoun, which was the subject of endless dispute after his death in 1612.
