General Order Book of the Fife Regiment of Militia containing printed and manuscript War Office circulars addressed to the commanding officer of the regiment.

The Montrose Loyal Volunteers were disbanded in May 1802. The 2nd Forfarshire or Montrose Volunteers were formed in August 1803, under the command of Lieutenant-Colonel Alexander Gardiner (formerly commanding officer of the Royal Montrose Volunteers). Both volumes contain orders concerning drill, promotions, guard duties in Montrose, etc.; MS.10689 also mentions guard duties at Lunan Bay in case of attempted invasion.
