Sermons, speeches, and prayers by Principal William Dunlop and his son Alexander., 1687-1721, undated.
The papers of Principal Dunlop, dating from 1687 to 1699, are chiefly notes for and drafts of sermons, and the place and date of delivery is recorded on many of them. Those of Alexander Dunlop (folio 196) consist of Latin speeches dating from 1710 to 1721.
Translation into English of 'The Mattins and Laudes for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday in Holy Week' (those for Saturday are missing) with a 'Dedicatory Epistle to y[e] Queen of France' signed 'J.N.C.', Late 17th century.

The collection consists of manuscripts on a wide variety of subjects, many copied from manuscript or printed works, and chiefly dating from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. Among them are some account-books, diaries, and other manuscripts of family interest (including a few concerning the 2nd Earl of Buckinghamshire, father of the 6th Marchioness of Lothian), but very few letters.

The volume is imperfect at the beginning. The prayers are described as for evenings (up to 16), Sunday mornings (1-4), before, at, and after the Lord's Supper, and on 1 December 1721.
