Scope and Contents

A scrapbook of ephemera, news cuttings and photographs, containing information and illustrations of pipers and bagpipes mainly in Scotland, Ireland and Northumberland. Most of the material bears no date, but some items are dated 1929-1932. A copy of James Robertson's 'The Highland Bagpipe' is thought to date from [ca. 1935]. Among the photographs are some of Gilbert Askew himself holding Highland and Northumbrian pipes respectively.

Dates: 1929-1935 and undated.
