The Latin translation of the song follows the first item in a volume of printed accounts of King George IV's visit.

The contents are as follows:
(i) Marches and dances arranged for string quartet (folio 1);
(ii) Two songs for voices and piano (folio 19 verso), the second of which is dated 1908 (folio 21 verso).
It is not clear whether the covers belong to the leaves. Folios 17-22 are additions, stitched to the rest of the volume.
Material, chiefly genealogical, collected by John Philp Wood, chiefly leaves found loose in MSS.1872-1877., 1775-1814.
Also included are: a State of Terregles Parish, 1776 (folio 24); a printed ‘Song for the Duddingston Curling Society’, 1817, with manuscript notes of the names of the persons mentioned (folio 26); and two leaves printed from John Philp Wood's biographies of the Presidents of the Court of Session (Adv.MS.37.2.1, pages 1-19), showing that he intended to publish them (folio 28).

Also a memorandum of agreement for publishing ‘The Migration of Symbols’, 1923 (folio 36), manuscript of Mackenzie's article on ‘School Life Fifty years ago’ published in the ‘Scottish Educational Journal’ of November 18th 1932, pages 1391-1393 (folio 38), and newspaper cuttings concerning his life and work, 1901-1937.
