Typed 'List of early contributors to "Blackwood's Magazine", 1821-1870', transcribed, and arranged alphabetically by author, from a manuscript belonging to Blackwood and Sons., Late 19th century.
The original list was apparently compiled in the late nineteenth century from material in Blackwood’s offices by James Sinton, one of their employees.
It is incomplete in that the attributions of authorship do not cover all the articles, particularly for the early years of the magazine.
This list has now been superseded by MS. 4893.

The typescript was taken from a transcript, made circa 1912 from the original letters, which now seem to have disappeared.
