Mrs Taylor was working on her book 'Renaissance France: a description' from about 1938 to 1948. It was never published although the possibility was considered both during and after her lifetime (see correspondence in MS.20433).

George Scott-Moncrieff spent much of his childhood in England, but returned to Scotland in the 1930s. His writing covered a wide range of subjects, including architecture, Scottish topography, fiction, drama and religious works, and the last two of these are well represented in his papers.

Sydney Goodsir Smith wrote a number of plays, of which the best known is ‘The Wallace’ (Edinburgh, 1960). Most of the manuscripts of his plays are unpublished and undated.
