Marked examination papers (11 booklets) in European History, British History, Church History and Moral Philosophy. Macintosh studied History at Edinburgh University from 1946 to 1950.

Essay headed "Làithean sona agus làithean dona", part of which appeared in the Weekly Scotsman's column "A Highland Notebook" in 1954; see also Acc.14003/15. With further notes on lucky and unlucky days and traditions connected with certain days of the week.

Notebook containing a fully written-out essay or talk headed "Eòlas-léighis nan Gàidheal", on Gaelic medicine and the medical practices of the Gaels. 16 pages, the remaining pages blank.

Contains a typpe-written dissertation, with no date or author given, headed "The problem of the modern school child's leisure"; handwritten notes and an essay headed "Economic indfluences on education practice and theory" by Farquhar Macintosh, a handwritten essay by John MacDonald headed "The Scottish culture pattern", an outline of the teaching of Modern Psychology, and the Psychology class examination paper, 20 April 1951, with notes by Macintosh.

Nineteen marked undergraduate essays on historical and philosophical subjects. One is not in Macintosh's hand.
