This diary covers the time that Mylne spent at Loch Garten observing and photographing ospreys.

Breeding pairs of ospreys had been extinct in Britain by the beginning of the 20th century, but they ospreys first returned to Loch Garten in 1954, generating much interest. Mylne went in 1967 to record the activities of the third breeding pair and kept this journal of his experiences there.
