(i) An 'Essay on the change of manners in my own time, 1700-1790' by Elizabeth Mure, sister of Baron Mure (folio 1);

(ii) Memoranda written by Baron Mure at Leyden, 1740 (folio 18);

(iii) "Anecdotes relating to Scots troops in the service of the state’s General of the United Provinces" by Colonel J Stuart (folio 77);

(vi) Copy in an eighteenth-century hand of a handbill on James Crichton, 'The Admirable Crichton', printed in 1580 by Aldus Manutius, the Younger (folio 81);

(v) Heads of a sermon preached by Principal Robertson, 1778 (folio 92);

(vi) Poems on various topics (folio 94).

'Essay on the change of manners in my own time, 1700-1790' was printed (with some differences of arrangement) by the Maitland Club in ‘Selections from the family papers preserved at Caldwell’, part I, page 259 (Glasgow, 1854).

"Anecdotes relating to Scots troops in the service of the state’s General of the United Provinces" was printed in ‘Selections’, part ii, volume ii, page 51 (Glasgow, 1854).
