Scope and Contents
William Ireland Knapp corresponded regularly with his publisher, John Murray, while producing his work ' Life, writings and correspondence of George Borrow'. His letters to Murray detail the publishing process of the work and the relationship between author and publisher.
In addition to the letters of Knapp to Murray, there are also other letters concerning the work. Various correspondents wrote to John Murray [IV] and Robert Francis Cooke in relation to the work on Borrow, including discussing potential editors, publication dates and the printing of the work. There are also letters of G. P. Putman's Sons, the American publishers of the work.
