The contents are as follows. (i) Rules for a horse race to be run in the Isle of Man to celebrate the birthday of James, Lord Strange, 1697. This race was inaugurated by the Earls of Derby as Lords of Man probably in the mid 17th century. With the ending of the Derby regime in the 18th century the races fell into abeyance. (Folio 1.)
