Thomas Ross submitted at least part of the manuscript to the Highland Society of London (see his letter to their secretary, folio iii). His hand was similar to Ewen MacLachlan’s, and in notes at folio 24 verso Sir John Sinclair attributes his work on ‘Temora’ to the latter.
