The reminiscences include incidents of the cruise not recorded by Sir Walter Scott in his journal of it, later episodes relating to Scott, and some general facts about Orkney and Shetland. Most of these last are used by Robert Louis Stevenson in his ‘Records of a Family of Engineers’, 1912.

Typescript drafts with manuscript corrections and additions of 'Dylan Thomas: a personal account' by Ruthven Todd., 1963-1964.
Ruthven Todd was originally commissioned to write the official biography of Dylan Thomas, but failed to do so. These manuscripts are his reminiscences of the poet, which were not published except for chapter 12 which appeared in the ‘Mediterranean Review’, volume i, number 3 (1971), pages 15-23.

The reminiscences contain a certain amount of autobiographical information, but are chiefly concerned with composers and musicians whom D C Parker had met throughout his long career as a critic and writer on music. There is much information about such organisations as the Glasgow Grand Opera Society, of which Parker was secretary, and about the Scottish Orchestra, as well as about musicians of his acquaintance especially Elgar, Landon Ronald, Percy Grainger, and Felix Weingartner.
