Scope and Contents This volume contains the manuscript of John Cam Hobhouse, Baron Broughton, relating the events of the separation of Lord and Lady Byron. Hobhouse was the confidant of Lord Byron and often acted on his behalf during the first few months of 1816, when the separation was being negotiated.
