Harry A Cockburn, ‘An account of the Friday Club ... with notes on certain other social clubs in Edinburgh', in ‘Book of the Old Edinburgh Club’, volume iii (Edinburgh, 1910), identifies Robert Fergusson, writer, and William Brodie, wright, whose applications are on folios 62 and 124, with the poet and celebrated Deacon of the Wrights. On folio 103 verso, there is a short English poem in the hand of Robert Fergusson.
