The notebook contains notes of David Livingstone on Bantu languages (used in his ‘Analysis of the language of the Bechuanas’) (folio 2); various notes, inter alia, on animals (folio 57) and plants (folio 68); and an account of a conversation with a rain-doctor (folio 85); a sermon on missionary sacrifices (folio 90); and newspaper-cuttings.

Dates: 1852.
