Scope and Contents Thomas Campbell was a Scottish poet and writer. In 1819, Campbell completed a project that he had been working on since 1805 in producing 'Specimens of the British poets'. It was published by John Murray. The letters in this series are of Thomas Campbell to John Murray and largely relate to the production of this work and the aftermath of the publication.
