Scope and Contents

The contents are as follows:

(i) Autograph manuscript (with a fair copy of the part corresponding to printed pages 19-90) and corrected proofs of pages 113-127 and 209-225 of ‘The confederate secession’ by William Kerr, 8th marquess of Lothian, with correspondence of 1864, and notes concerning the work (folio 1).

(ii) Fragments of manuscript, uncorrected proofs, and a letter of 1865, concerning a work by Kerr on Italian history, probably the ‘Fragment of a parallel between the history, literature and art of Italy in the Middle Ages’ (folio 188).
