Scope and Contents

The entries in red include Saints Frideswide (19 October) and Hugh of Lincoln (17 November). The calendar for each month is followed by astronomical computations for the years 1444-1554. There are also tables of dominical letters and golden numbers for 1438-1554, tables concerning the moon and the signs of the zodiac, medical notes, and notes on the phases of the moon. (Folios 25-26.) Written in red and black with some initials in blue. Pen-work decoration in red.

The marriage in 1464 of John Borthwick of Crookston and Margaret, daughter of John, Lord Wenlock, is recorded in the hand of John Borthwick, circa 1804 (folios 26,28), as is Margaret's death in 1508. (Folio 27 verso.) There are also accounts for repairs to a house. (Folios 28 verso-31.)
