Scope and Contents

Letters, 1836-1848, of John Barrow to John Murray II and John Murray III, with related letters. The letters concern his own publications, including his biographies of Admirals Howe and Anson, and his autobiography. He comments on books, articles and manuscripts by other authors on subjects of interest to him. Some of the letters concern delays in the publishing of his son John’s work.
