These letters concern his own publications but also mention engravings for the works of others, including Heinrich Schliemann. One letter, 1 August 1862, to his father Josiah, describes a climbing accident on the Matterhorn, including a sketch. All the letters are arranged alphabetically by correspondent, then by date under each name.
