(1) Manuscript copy of a memorandum of agreement, 21 June 1839, between Austen Henry Layard, Edward Ledwich Osbaldeston Mitford and Smith Elder and Company: folios 1-6;
(2) draft agreement, 21 June 1839, concerning the advance of a sum of money by Smith Elder and Company under the security of a joint bond between Austen Henry Layard and Edward Mitford: folios 7-8;
(3) manuscript copy of a letter, 17 September 1843, of Austen Henry Layard to Smith Elder and Company concerning the repayment of his share of the sum of money advanced by Smith Elder and Company under the security of a joint bond between Layard and Edward Mitford: folios 9-10.
