Scope and Contents

The arrangement of these parts differs from the final edition in that the appendix follows the account of the destruction of the memoirs, although there is a manuscript note on it advising that is should follow page 182 of the finished volume.

The proofs for this work are annotated throughout.

The proofs want everything from page ix to page 176. They comprise therefore of:

the title page and part of a preface: folios 1-4;

five pages of the account of the separation: folios 5-7;

the narrative of the account of the destruction of the memoirs of Lord Byron: folios 8-28;

the appendix to the work: folios 29-37;
