(ii) Papers, 1695-1697, including inventories of writs, of a dispute between Sir James Richardson of Smeaton and William Morison of Prestongrange concerning coal (folio 92);

(iii) Papers, 1739-1744, of a dispute between the 4th Marquess of Tweeddale and the magistrates of Musselburgh concerning coal and the multures, with a 17th century copy of the resignation by the 1st Earl of Dunfermline in favour of King Charles I of the heritable bailieship and justiciary of the lordship of Musselburgh (folio 144);

(iv) Draft agreement between the 4th Marquess of Tweeddale and John Adam concerning Pinkie coal, 1752 (folio 199);

(v) Miscellaneous papers, 1617-1770 (folio 202).
