(i) Drafts and notes for historical works including ‘An examination one of the arguments for the high antiquity of Regiam Majestatem’ (Edinburgh, 1769) (folio 14). ‘The additional case of Elizabeth claiming the title and dignity of Countess of Sutherland….’, (1770) (folio 15), and ‘Miscellaneous remarks on the enquiry into the evidence against Mary, Queen of Scots’ (London, 1784) (folio 28). There are also drafts for an unpublished 'Life of Oliver Cromwell', (folio 50), and fragments of an unpublished history of the Stuart Kings (folio 66). (ii) Corrected proof sheets of ‘A catalogue of the Lords of Session from the institution of the College of Justice in the Year 1532, with historical notes (Edinburgh, 1767), with accounts for publishing. This work was reprinted with additional notes by an anonymous author in 1794 (folio 192).
