Mastermind and Quizzes., 1972-2005.
Scope and Contents
Magnusson hosted the BBC TV quiz show Mastermind from 1972 until 1997. This section contains press cuttings on Mastermind for each year of the show, photographs, mainly of contestants who appeared on the show and a few loose scripts for special editions of the show that were aired. Research notes and correspondence on Magnusson's publication 'I've Started So I'll Finish: The Story of Mastermind' (1997) are also included.
A selection of papers from the Mastermind club were also contained in Magnusson's files. The club, formed in 1978 and still active, is open to anyone who had appeared on the show. Magnusson acted as Quizmaster for the club's annual quiz until his death.
As a quizmaster this section also contains a number of quiz questions compiled by Magnusson for various organisations and publications.

As far as possible all material is arranged chronologically by each Mastermind series from 1972 to 1997. Material relating to Mastermind has been arranged chronogically. Material relating to the Mastermind Club appears after material relating to the TV show and has also been arranged chronologically.
