The letters have been arranged chronologically. Some of the letters were dated with reference to the website of Professor Paul Douglass, ‘Caro: the Caroline Lamb website’.

When first made available for consultation this folder of letters, before it was foliated, included letters now dated as [Feb 1814], 26 September 1814, and ?Apr 1815, of Lady Caroline to John Murray [II]. On cataloguing these letters have been moved to MS.43466, folios 51-52, 88-89 and 110-111 respectively. There was also a letter of Lady Caroline Lamb that has since been identified as being a letter to John Cam Hobhouse, rather than John Murray [II]. This has been moved to folder Ms.43465 ff.71-72.
