Scope and Contents

The letters of artists to Lord Byron have been ordered at the start of the sequence, followed by those of other correspondents relating to artists. The letters relating to Drury Lane and other theatrical matters are then placed at the end. Each section has been arranged alphabetically by correspondent surname, with any anonymous letters at the end of the sequence.

When first made available for consultation, before foliation, the letter of Henry Kirchhoffer to John Cam Hobhouse was housed in Ms.43527. This was moved to the current location during cataloguing.
